My Youtube channel signals the go ahead

One lesson is clear: one cannot expect immediate results. It's no use checking constantly my statitstics, because the seeds I have planted today will need a little time to grow. That's why this morning I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the channel I created less than two weeks ago had 1 subscriber!! Wow!! Dear subscriber... thank you from the bottom of my heart. At the moment the channel carries one video in Spanish with English subtitles, and an English one I created a week later, with voice over in English. So far I'd received nearly 50 views, but not a single like or comment. I had said to myself that until I got some kind of request or at least a sign, I would create any more videos for that Youtub echannel. Well, if the like I found this morning was not sufficient sign, half an hour ago, just after lunch, I found... a second subscription!! Thank you, dear two subscribers. My intuition is that they are English language viewers, but the You Tube analytics indicate that recent activity involved viewers of the Spanish video... The bottom line is that I need to get cracking straight away on new material for that channel... I have viewers... and 2 subscribers!! Off I go...

Investing in Youtube content

My channels are slowly continuing their progress, except for my coffee machine video, the one I made over a year ago, which today had surpassed the 1,100 views. As for the channel I launched exactly one week ago, it has reached 33 views, unfortunately without any comments or likes. So I decided to edit the titles so now they appear in English, with added audio in English, which is basically my first ever video voice over revamp. We'll have to see if that gathers any likes or if it does better than the previous one in Spanish. The new video also has a specific thumbnail I created on Canva.com - thank God for such a precious app.

I'm beginning to consider YouTube as an investment. You make the best you can with whatever you have available in terms of resources, time and expertise, and you just enjoy the process for whatever personal satisfaction you may have derived. And after a few months, or years, you may be able to harvest the fruits. It defintely takes work... and no, immediate success cannot be expected. But I am definitely enjoying the journey.

Youtube leaves me speechless!

I'm writing what has happened a second ago. Basically I just uploaded an unboxing video to my main channel "En Casa de Bloki", literally about 10 minutes ago. I just took a second to choose a different thumbnail from the one YouTube had selected, and took 2 minutes to write a couple of tags. Just as I save the changes... would you believe what happened?... boom... A comment!! Yes, a comment from a user; some very kind user complimenting me on the video and encouraging me to keep up the good work... my God... how can that be?! Needless to say, I took a second to reply that user, thanking him or her for the comment. Well.. I doubt if any tiny channel can boast such a record... I'm amazed, and of course very grateful. I will now send the link to the Amazon seller that sold me the article. They were friendly, I think they will be pleased to view the video.

Español o castellano? That is question

That is the question indeed as far as Search Engine Optimisation goes... I've just had a look at my lyrics channel. The last 2 videos uploaded appear among the very first from a Google search when you type in the main keywords.. those 2 videos are about Spanish songs with lyrics in English, ie, lyrics in English that can be sung along to the tune originally set to Spanish lyrics.

But in regard to the first video I uploaded, an English song with a loose translation of the meaning of the lyrics, my video is unfortunately at the bottom of the Google search results... That is a real shame, because I objectively think it is a lot more emotional, and even more poetical, than its competitors.

In that analysis I discovered that when I carried out the search using the term "en castellano", my video came up on top. In one instance, my video was number 2! But if the search term includes the word "español" my video is lost at the very bottom...

It is worth analysing more deeply... but in the meantime, I've had the idea of modifying the title, perhaps adding the word español or maybe even replacing the word castellano. I'll do that straight away and report the results, which I believe will be evident in a couple of days.

My youtube tiny channel is stuck

I cannot help feeling slightly discouraged. The situation of my Youtube tiny channels seems to be stagnant, or more specifically: predictable. The current pattern is that the video with most views on my main channel "En Casa de Bloki" gets 15 views on average per day, and it's stuck at 5 likes. No comments so far and no new subscribers to the channel. I can't think of what else I could do to activate it other than complete an unboxing video which still needs a little work.

As for my lyrics channel, it hasn't moved an inch from where it's been since I posted the third video, which immediately got 5 views. The second one has reached 18, the first one still 2. Last night I happened to be viewing other You tube videos related to the second video and I shared a lot of geniune comments and likes to comments of other viewers. But all that activity has not had the least impact on my own video.. so much for that growth strategy...

The other channel, the one I created and launched with a tiny video is not doing that badly considering the circumstances. On its first two days it has received 13 views, so that's 1 every couple of hours - which is pretty good considering the video is not listed at all by the Google search. At least it served me to practice inserting translated captions, which is harder to do than I thought - I found my screen space a little scarce.

And with that panorama in front of me, I'm a little overwhelmed by all the possible projects I have underway; unsure of which I should take up and complete, and which I should just let lie... either way, at the end of the day it all benefits the learning curve of creating good content for You Tube.

Finally!! 1000 views on my video!!

Finally... It is now 14.49 and the statistics show the beautiful number: 1000 !!! yipee!
here goes a screenshot:

Youtube video views according to expectations

Well... it just after lunch, exactly 14.29, and the views on that video that I predicted would reach 1000 views before. I just checked and the total recorded is 999... This You Tube business is not that easy...

I reach 1000 views on my first Youtube video

Well, yes... that's the big news. The first video I uploaded on my main channel "En Casa de Bloki" is only minutes away from reaching its 1000 views. As I write, on Sunday 22nd March at 8.40, the total views is: 993.
I am embedding a screenshot of the Youtube statitistics so that you can see the data:

Very close to 1000 views on an amateur Youtube video posted over a year ago

Since the video in point is receiving an average of 15 views a day, it is foreseeable that in the course of the morning, or at least before midday, the total views recorded for that video will be 1000... wow!

That video, the one where I unbox the Delonghi Alicia electric coffee machine was made really more for myself and to show to the person who sold me the item than for show on You Tube. I must add that I made another video on the same coffee maker recently with the specific aim of offering a better quality video to my viewers, but for some reason it has less views than I had expected. That video was posted precisely on 03/03/2020 and was set to really a beautiful track from Youtube Audio library, but in two weeks it has received 23 views. Here's the link to that video:

Blimey!

The Youtube Analytics shows me 2 views for the video just posted! Could it be a bot or some automatic viewer?.. I'll be watching closely...

New youtubechannel and new post

Hey... I'm getting good at this :-) Just created a new channel and managed to post a new video. I have just published it at 12.39. It is very brief.. I was in a rush to publish it. But I expect it to have tons of views in no time at all.. We shall see. It is a video in Spanish, and will now add the captions in English. I will keep you posted.

first views on video just posted on youtube

Youhoo!! This morning I woke up and I could'nt believe my You Tube statistics... 3 views in less than 12 hours on a video I had just posted at 9pm the night before!!! Now that is really epic! It might be less than nothing for youtubers with clout, but for a tiny weeny channel that had only 2 videos, to get 3 views overnight, from scratch, I'd say is pretty heroic. I'm referring to a second channel I launched less than a month ago, at the beginning of March. I have made the effort of posting a video each week, so yesterday, 20th March, I posted the third video. The first video, posted on 3rd March has had 2 views up to date, which I find rather unfair, because I think it is really nice to watch. The second video was posted a week later and was stuck on 6 views for quite a few days. Yesterday is up to 14 - it is also a very nice video, worth watching, from a You Tube consumer's point of view. And from yesterday, the third video is displaying 3 views.. In the latest video I incorporated a request for "like and subscribe" and the end; we'll see if that works because so far the channel has not recorded any of that.

As regards my main channel "En casa de Bloki", soon after I wrote my blog post yesterday someone bestowed another "like", so now the total is 5. Deep thanks to those viewers, whoever they may be. And to my great joy, while I was exploring the old version of You Tube Studio, the Creator Studio Classic, I discovered my first ever comment received!! For some strange reason it was a commento from 4 months ago that had remained unpublished, pending review. I wasn't too sure how it worked, the fact is that I clicked a few buttons and was able to reply to it too. So now my channel displays 2 total comments. Funnily enough, the comment was about an ancient video I had posted, about the unboxing of a cleaning robot. So it has given me the idea of making a proper video about the robot being used. But that one will go in the qeue. I have three other videos in the pipeline for this channel, and a few ideas for the other one. Will keep you posted on the progress of the two small You Tube channels. Any comments would be most welcome.

Youtube Subscribers to small channel

Goodmorning dear blogger readers and followers... I'm absolutely over the moon... this morning I woke up and I was overjoyed to find out that I have gained a new subscriber to my You Tube channel! Welcome subscriber number 2!! I don't know who you are or where you live, but I'm very grateful to you. Not to speak of subscriber number 1, who remains very dear to my heart, even though he or she too remains totally unknown to me.

This second subscriber has materialised only 16 days after I uploaded the third video to my channel "En casa de Bloki". The first subscriber appeared about 3 days later, but to be honest I thought it someone from YouTube staff testing my channel, though I doubt YT would even bother with such a tiny weeny channel.

At any rate, I have decided to record my You Tube progress as I feel it could be useful to other people out there wanting to know how it REALLY works, without any tricks whatsoever.. no paid subsribers, no commissioned commentators... I haven't even told anyone I know in real life, as I prefer my friends and family to feel obliged to leave a like...

I can assure you that I am not following any tricks at all.. just making the videos I honestly think could be of value to other viewers and making them with the highest quality I am capable of. Will this amount to anything big? Well, that would be fantastic... In meantime, it's really exciting to create content for Youtube, knowing that other viewers -anonymous users just like me- will enjoy them, and might even manifest their satisfactory consumption of that content through clicking on "like", writing a comment, or hitting the "subscribe" button.

To the two people who have subscribed to my modest channel... Bloki and I thank you from all heart :-)

And to sum up the brief history of my YouTube channel: In December 2018 I recorded the unboxing of the Alicia Delonghi 2 Tazze electric coffee machine. I'd ordered through Wallapop, the most popular second-hand app in Spain, and I wanted to make sure the item was in working order. The video was of decent quality, so I decided to publish it in You Tube and then forgot about it. After six months I checked and it had received about 30 views... thought nothing of it. A year later it had 0 comments, but about 150 views, so I decided to add English subtitles. In January 2020 there was a total of 350 views... my goodness! Today, 19th March 2020 at 9.30am, there are a total of 943 views!

I must tend to my day-job via telework as we are all confined at home due to the contention measures of the covid-19. So.. thanks again to my dear two subscribers... you have done a tone of good to my morale.
