My Youtube channel signals the go ahead
One lesson is clear: one cannot expect immediate results. It's no use checking constantly my statitstics, because the seeds I have planted today will need a little time to grow. That's why this morning I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the channel I created less than two weeks ago had 1 subscriber!! Wow!! Dear subscriber... thank you from the bottom of my heart. At the moment the channel carries one video in Spanish with English subtitles, and an English one I created a week later, with voice over in English. So far I'd received nearly 50 views, but not a single like or comment. I had said to myself that until I got some kind of request or at least a sign, I would create any more videos for that Youtub echannel. Well, if the like I found this morning was not sufficient sign, half an hour ago, just after lunch, I found... a second subscription!! Thank you, dear two subscribers. My intuition is that they are English language viewers, but the You Tube analytics indicate that recent activity involved viewers of the Spanish video... The bottom line is that I need to get cracking straight away on new material for that channel... I have viewers... and 2 subscribers!! Off I go...

Investing in Youtube content
My channels are slowly continuing their progress, except for my coffee machine video, the one I made over a year ago, which today had surpassed the 1,100 views. As for the channel I launched exactly one week ago, it has reached 33 views, unfortunately without any comments or likes. So I decided to edit the titles so now they appear in English, with added audio in English, which is basically my first ever video voice over revamp. We'll have to see if that gathers any likes or if it does better than the previous one in Spanish. The new video also has a specific thumbnail I created on Canva.com - thank God for such a precious app.
I'm beginning to consider YouTube as an investment. You make the best you can with whatever you have available in terms of resources, time and expertise, and you just enjoy the process for whatever personal satisfaction you may have derived. And after a few months, or years, you may be able to harvest the fruits. It defintely takes work... and no, immediate success cannot be expected. But I am definitely enjoying the journey.

Youtube leaves me speechless!
I'm writing what has happened a second ago. Basically I just uploaded an unboxing video to my main channel "En Casa de Bloki", literally about 10 minutes ago. I just took a second to choose a different thumbnail from the one YouTube had selected, and took 2 minutes to write a couple of tags. Just as I save the changes... would you believe what happened?... boom... A comment!! Yes, a comment from a user; some very kind user complimenting me on the video and encouraging me to keep up the good work... my God... how can that be?! Needless to say, I took a second to reply that user, thanking him or her for the comment. Well.. I doubt if any tiny channel can boast such a record... I'm amazed, and of course very grateful. I will now send the link to the Amazon seller that sold me the article. They were friendly, I think they will be pleased to view the video.
Español o castellano? That is question
That is the question indeed as far as Search Engine Optimisation goes... I've just had a look at my lyrics channel. The last 2 videos uploaded appear among the very first from a Google search when you type in the main keywords.. those 2 videos are about Spanish songs with lyrics in English, ie, lyrics in English that can be sung along to the tune originally set to Spanish lyrics.
But in regard to the first video I uploaded, an English song with a loose translation of the meaning of the lyrics, my video is unfortunately at the bottom of the Google search results... That is a real shame, because I objectively think it is a lot more emotional, and even more poetical, than its competitors.
In that analysis I discovered that when I carried out the search using the term "en castellano", my video came up on top. In one instance, my video was number 2! But if the search term includes the word "español" my video is lost at the very bottom...
It is worth analysing more deeply... but in the meantime, I've had the idea of modifying the title, perhaps adding the word español or maybe even replacing the word castellano. I'll do that straight away and report the results, which I believe will be evident in a couple of days.

My youtube tiny channel is stuck
I cannot help feeling slightly discouraged. The situation of my Youtube tiny channels seems to be stagnant, or more specifically: predictable. The current pattern is that the video with most views on my main channel "En Casa de Bloki" gets 15 views on average per day, and it's stuck at 5 likes. No comments so far and no new subscribers to the channel. I can't think of what else I could do to activate it other than complete an unboxing video which still needs a little work.
As for my lyrics channel, it hasn't moved an inch from where it's been since I posted the third video, which immediately got 5 views. The second one has reached 18, the first one still 2. Last night I happened to be viewing other You tube videos related to the second video and I shared a lot of geniune comments and likes to comments of other viewers. But all that activity has not had the least impact on my own video.. so much for that growth strategy...
The other channel, the one I created and launched with a tiny video is not doing that badly considering the circumstances. On its first two days it has received 13 views, so that's 1 every couple of hours - which is pretty good considering the video is not listed at all by the Google search. At least it served me to practice inserting translated captions, which is harder to do than I thought - I found my screen space a little scarce.
And with that panorama in front of me, I'm a little overwhelmed by all the possible projects I have underway; unsure of which I should take up and complete, and which I should just let lie... either way, at the end of the day it all benefits the learning curve of creating good content for You Tube.

here goes a screenshot:
Youtube video views according to expectations
Well... it just after lunch, exactly 14.29, and the views on that video that I predicted would reach 1000 views before. I just checked and the total recorded is 999... This You Tube business is not that easy...
